Develop by Design – Foundations of Esports Learning Environments

Course Description

This session explores Esports as a structured, multidisciplinary learning environment that supports communication, leadership, digital media, and technical skill development. Grounded in prosocial learning principles including connection, belonging, purpose, and agency, participants examine how intentionally designed Esports environments influence student engagement, collaboration, and identity development.

Attendees explore how school districts are leveraging Esports to expand access, strengthen school culture, and support Career and Technical Education pathways. The session also examines the role of the built environment in shaping participation, supervision, accessibility, and overall program effectiveness.

Participants leave with a foundational understanding of how Esports environments, when intentionally designed, support student well-being, engagement, and equitable access across K–12 settings.
